Welcome to the Zimmer Lab at UNB Saint John

Our lab studies the biological factors that allow aquatic organisms to persist in challenging environments. Projects in the lab focus on mechanistic physiology, ecotoxicology, developmental biology, and the genetic regulation of physiological systems.

Our work often takes advantage of the natural environments surrounding the UNB Saint John campus which is located minutes from the Bay of Fundy, the tidal estuaries of the Saint John River, and the Kennebecasis River (banner image above as seen from the Saint John campus). The lab also focuses on human-induced impacts on coastal areas located in and around the Saint John Harbour.
